Close to most casinos and reasonably priced, Embassy Suites Hotel provides a nice full breakfast until 10:00 am each day and a happy hour with FREE cocktails, wine and beer each day for two hours starting around 4:30.... these are all included with the price of your room. Room taxes in Tahoe are 30%... quite a ripoff!
Nothing was outstanding, but it was pleasant, clean, convenient and I would recommend it to families, couples or singles. They have a pool, spa and sauna (dry) as well, along with a small exercise room. Parking is ample and of no charge unless you valet. Rate is negotiable if you stay midweek. Cocktail hour in the lobby by hartmany My stay was for the New Year's holiday 2005/2006. Obviously the rates change depending on the season, but the price does always include a made-to-order breakfast and 4-6pm cocktail and snack time in the lobby. If you are a Hilton Honors member, you get this priviledge at the main bar where there is table service, a TV, and is a little less crowded. There is an indoor pool and the property is very popular with families. If you're looking for a quiet, upper scale place, look somewhere else. There is a ski rental and free ski storage available onsite, as well as an Avis rental office (however, I recommend taking the bus from Reno - see other tips). The staff was friendly and generally helpful. The rooms are dated, but clean. The higher floor rooms cost more, but I don't really think the view was that much better.
