  • Great place to stay with family

Recommend, yes but I have learned some lessons during my 3 night stay.. Great hotel, great location , great staff. Stayed here during the holiday so enjoyed the resturant in the hotel for breakfast daily and dinner a few nights. Tips:
#1 Park next door behind Harrahs its free, by pass the $25/ night fee to park at the Embassy Suites.. they will not comp you for parking...period.
#2 Use the Business center down stairs instead of paying for the wifi....I am a Diamond memeber so I got it for free. Ask the night desk clerk to comp you the wifi for you stay.. I here that works too.
#3 Hit the Breakfast early to avoid the crowds and you will not be dissapointed.

Unique Quality: Location is great and the indoor pool is hard not to mention. Great value when you add in breakfast and happy hour.

    Well situated

My stay was for the New Year's holiday 2005/2006. Obviously the rates change depending on the season, but the price does always include a made-to-order breakfast and 4-6pm cocktail and snack time in the lobby. If you are a Hilton Honors member, you get this priviledge at the main bar where there is table service, a TV, and is a little less crowded.

There is an indoor pool and the property is very popular with families. If you're looking for a quiet, upper scale place, look somewhere else. There is a ski rental and free ski storage available onsite, as well as an Avis rental office (however, I recommend taking the bus from Reno - see other tips). The staff was friendly and generally helpful.

The rooms are dated, but clean.

The higher floor rooms cost more, but I don't really think the view was that much better.

Nice hotel, free happy hour and snacks

it was our honeymoon. The room was nice and that's about all that mattered:) The hotel is very big and corporate. It's on the border of CA and Nevada so casinos are very close by. We were'nt really into that, but we thought that since we were staying in CA we'd be away from that. There was a free happy hour that everyone in the hotel must have gone to. They had snacks and drinks. They also had an excellent breakfast, anything you could want included. The hotel has valet parking that you do have to pay for. Bummer. It's nice and a good location. There is a two story restaurant across the street and I can't remember the name, but it was great. We also spent a lot of time driving and visiting the Lake Tahoe parks. Beautiful.

Unique Quality: Nice pool but there were lots of kids. I would say no room has a good view, so stick with the cheaper option.

  • Convenience with class...

Close to most casinos and reasonably priced, Embassy Suites Hotel provides a nice full breakfast until 10:00 am each day and a happy hour with FREE cocktails, wine and beer each day for two hours starting around 4:30.... these are all included with the price of your room. Room taxes in Tahoe are 30%... quite a ripoff!

Unique Quality: Nothing was outstanding, but it was pleasant, clean, convenient and I would recommend it to families, couples or singles. They have a pool, spa and sauna (dry) as well, along with a small exercise room. Parking is ample and of no charge unless you valet. Rate is negotiable if you stay midweek. Call Elizabeth the reservation manager.

Directions: Right next to Harrahs Casino

  • Embassy Suites

$169.00/night if extended stay (7 nights). two room suite includes either a King or two doubles. two TV's. Pull out sofa bed. Very nice.

Unique Quality: Wal across the street and you are in Nevada for gambling! New Gondola is just a couple blocks away to take you up to Heavenlt Ski resort. Free made to order breakfast! and free cocktail reception every evening!

Stay at Embassy Suites Lake Tahoe was OK

by TripAdvisor Member Robert8181

We stayed at the Embassy Suites in South Lake Tahoe for one night (9/23) on a Northern California trip. It is a very large Embassy Suites hotel with 9 floors. Harrahs Casino is directly across the street. It is within walking distance to many shops, restaurants and the Heavenly Valley gondola. We stayed in an Executive Suite on the 9th floor which was nice. Bacause it is a large hotel the evening reception and the morning breakfast were fairly busy and there was a wait to get service. The front desk staff was not overly helpful. I was told that there was only valet parking available at the hotel (for a fee). Apparently that was not true. There was a concierage desk to assist with planning activities. It was interesting that they were actively promoting that we attend the sales pitch for the Marriott time share property next door to the hotel. The major plus for this hotel is an excellent location.

A wonderful Hotel

by A TripAdvisor Member

My family stays at the Embassy Suites at least twice a year. We absolutely love it. The full breakfast is great and drinks & snacks in the evening are fun. It's a great value. We usually try to stay mid-week for the best rates. It's always clean and comfortable. If at all your service is not what you wanted they( the staff) will make it right.
The indoor pool is a plus when the temps outside aren't the warmest. Two papers are delivered in the am and that's just a few of the added touches they provide when you stay at Embassy.

Too Many People

The room was beautiful, as was the hotel. The hotel is across the street from two casinos, and within reasonable walking distance of others. Shopping is available within steps of the hotel. Valet service is very attentive and pleasant. Everything would be perfect, except the hotel is so crowded. Even though cocktails are provided in the evening, the lines are so long the experience is anything but relaxing. The same for breakfast -- the cooks are overworked, the lines are long, and if you get up to get another glass of juice, the waiters scoop up your dishes, clear your table, and someone else is in your chair when you come back with the juice.

Would definetely stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel 8/10-13/04 and was very impressed. The hotel is beautiful and the location is the best. We walked almost everywhere we wanted to go as it is adjacent to the casinos and great dining and shopping. Suite was larger than most Embassy Suites we have been in and very clean. Yes, it is crowded, but it is a very nice property in a busy year round resort. The evening reception and breakfast are wonderful...crowded but wonderful. Pool was very nice too. We had a wonderful stay. Valet parking is $15.00 per day but they were very fast to retrieve our car and very polite.

Beautiful Lake Tahoe

by A TripAdvisor Member

This is a very nice hotel that is well located in the resort area of south lake Tahoe. The breakfast and evening drinks are great, The rooms are comfortable and clean. We found the staff to be helpful and pleasant. My only complaint would be the walls are very thin - we had bad neighbors our first night....however they checked out and the rest of our stay was very enjoyable.

All depends on what you want to find and do. I personnally perfer North Shore as it is not as much of a tourist trap but still allows close access to South Shore for the major casinos.

If you are going boarding for 6 days, what resorts will you be going to? That will be your deciding factor. If you stay on North Shore (Incline Village, Kings Beach, Tahoe City, Truckee), you have lots of resorts near there to choose from and Incline is only ~40min from Heavenly. However if you stay in South Shore, you also can choose additional resorts like Sierra and Kirkwood.

Maybe this will help, follow the links to find accommodation at each location:

Without knowing your budget I'd suggest the Embassy Suites Lake Tahoe. It's steps from the Heavenly lifts and is in the heart of the casino/nightlife area. I think it would work for you because you get a spacious two room suite--you could ask for two queen beds, plus there is always a couch that makes into a bed. They have a wonderful FREE buffet breakfast each morning--not continental but eggs, cereals, pancakes, sweet rolls, fruit, yogurt....it's such a great deal. They also have special ski packages. They have their own parking. Their rates are usually excellent, so check it out! Have fun!
