Parking tips
by richnshondra
I would like to know fif there is a way to park at embassy suits without paying 25 bucks for vallet parking thanks

Unless you're a guest.. and even then they'll probably charge you a daily parking fee. Try to self-park instead at one of the nearby casinos: Harrah's, Harvey's, etc. It's only a short walk away... There's also the shopping ctr across the street from Embassy: the Raley's Shopping Ctr but I think they limit parking there to either 2-4 hours.

If you're looking to save the money, park in the big garages by the big casinos. If you are not within walking distance, a taxi may still be less than your $25 valet fee. At least that's what we always did when we went to SLT.
Travel Tips for South Lake Tahoe
You must visit Lake Tahoe...
by curious_yank
If you have never been to Lake Tahoe, it is a MUST on the list of places to visit in the USA. Locals are very friendly. Try to visit mid week if you are going to ski or board. Weekends tend to get crowded with the SF crew that makes the 4 hour drive. Looking down on the lake from the top of Heavenly is a sight that remains in your mind forever.
Heavenly - Another "Big-un"
by Pounder73
This is another one of the big ones, although like Squaw, I bet you’ll be staying in a much smaller area than advertised. For instance, the base is near lake level, so on warmer days, you’ll be staying on top. However, there are base lodges on both California and Nevada sides. (it is split by the state line) And this is the most easily accessible from the South Lake casinos as well.
It is still big… /www.skiheavenly.com/skiing_riding/terrain/facts/ - just not that big.
Incredible Breakfast "Sandwich"
by Agraichen about Black Bear Coffee Co
Hidden in the corner of a small "strip mall" across the street from the Hyatte Lake Tahoe, the Black Bear Coffe Co Bakery and Deli is a gem of a find.
The freiendly owner and staff make the visit even more pleasant. From the "traffic" it appears it is a local favorite as well with a constant stream of people. Starting with freshly baked rolls with no preservatives, add eggs made to order with ham, bacon or other deli meat, the breakfast sandwich is a wonderful culinary delight.
In addition the breakfast burritto is for even larger appitites. One of them can feed two people unless you have a very large appetite.
Horseback Riding Around Lake Tahoe
by TahoeDD
Horseback riding around Lake Tahoe is what I live to do!
There are so many trails, from the Tahoe Rim Trail, to the Pacific Crest Trail, to many side trails and secret trails; trails to lakes and trails to mountain tops and trails that wander through meadows and forests; Lake Tahoe has the most spectacular places to ride horses in the west!
I've compiled some of my favorite trails on my website... tahoehorsetrails.com... feel free to come in and ride some of my trails...virtually!
Good skiing
by hartmany
I've spent the past few winters at Whistler, so I guess I've been spoiled, and it may not be fair to compare the two sites.
Tahoe is still an enjoyable ski resort with many skiing options (Alpine, Heavenly, Kirkwood, Squaw, Sugar Bowl etc) and a breathtaking view of the take from the runs. There is a good snowmaking system in place for when times call for it. New Year's weekend 05/06 was certainly NOT one of those times as 95% of Heavenly was closed due to snow storm winds.
