I found it so convenient I stayed for 4 days. Travelocity also had a great price for September. Rooms were clean and the vetilation was adequate.
Unique Quality: My Sprint broadband data card worked there so I could access the net at around 500 kbps.

Check out www.VirtualTahoe.com , this site has listings for everything you need to know about recreations and accomodations in Tahoe. I think that the ski resorts offer equipment rental and lessons. I used to ski at Heavenly and loved it. It has a beautiful view of the lake from the summit on the California side. I have stayed at Harrah's and Harvey's casinos, but they are kinda pricey. I have also stayed at the Royal Vahalla, which is a nice motel on the shore of the lake. They have some 2 bedroom, 2-level units with full kitchens, which is great when you are traveling with a larger group. If you want to visit the casinos at night, many of the motels offer free shuttles to the casinos and back. There is a ton of snow up there now. Hope this helps, have fun.
South Lake Tahoe has Heavenly, which is one of the better Tahoe Ski Resorts. This is the gambling center of Tahoe, so the casino hotels is where to stay. The North Shore is more relaxed and laid back with many motels on the California side , with several casino/hotels on the Nevada side in Incline Village. North Star is my favorite here. See both ski locations and even cam sites by going to website: www.snoweb.com On the North Shore side but going toward Sacramento is a good snowboarders area called Sugar Bowl.
Thanx a ton. I think heavenly is a good option. Do u know of a place where i can get a deal for accomodation+lift ticket or beginners lessons......some kind of coupons.....
Lake Tahoe Inn on the South Shore has a package that is a little less expensive then some of the others. See the website for rates and info: www.royalinntahoe.com
Try to stay at the Marriott in South Shore - they have the Heavenly Gondola right there so you can go up the mountain.
If you still want somewhere nice but more affordabe try the Travel Lodge or Best Western - both in South Shore.
The casinos are ok, very smoky, but sounds like you are there to get in the snow.
Check out Altitude in Harrahs for dancing after - cool club.
