I am the maid of honor in my best friends wedding, its my first trip to Tahoe and my first attempt at a bachlorette party....If someone could give me some ideas on possibly some good night clubs...adult entertainment...or anything that would give us a good time I would truly appreciate it.
Go to www.montbleuresort.com and check out Opal Ultra lounge--it even describes itself on the website as the perfect place for a bachelorette party. Also, Harvey's resort has the Hard Rock Cafe and Cabo Wabo cantina, they might work as well, but I would check out Opal first. Good luck!
Kirkwood has been my favorite ski destination for years. Not boasting the longest runs by far in the Tahoe region, but I will guarantee you the best relative snow conditions with easiest access to some back country, mogul riding, gully shooting terrain. This hill is more spread out than others, but with all kinds of off trail paths. You will have your day filled. The extra drive and walk from your car may be worth it.
This is the home of TV's Bonanza. It's almost like a mini-theme park. You can go inside the Ponderosa and see the setting that the TV program used for their shows.
There is a staged "shoot-out" in the make believe town and other little shops and places to visit. There is a real outdoor hamburger place to buy fresh grilled hamburgers and chips.
When you are standing next to the Ponderosa there is a spectacular view of the Lake Tahoe area.
Meyers Downtown Cafe is a down-home breakfast and lunch joint open Tuesday-Sunday from 6AM-2PM. It's run by Billy and Barbara, longtime locals with Southern roots. You will find a very solid variety of hot & cold sandwiches, salads, burritos, fish tacos, breakfast fare and dessert, including specials and some of my favorite chili ever. This is a hopping, very cozy place for a hearty meal in the mountains! I love the lunch burrito, the fish tacos, the rueben and the cobb salad. My hubby is addicted to turkey on wheat with a side of homemade honey mustard dressing.
If you're ever snowed in or just want a day off the slopes, then head down to TAHOE BOWL. They have the electronic scoring plus they serve BOB DOG PIZZA... Great food, great game... Now just stop throwing gutter balls!
The oddly-shaped Taylor Slough Visitor Center sits west of South Lake Tahoe and east of Emerald Bay. Operated by the Eldorado National Forest, the visitor center has information on touring the lake and backcountry info; unlike many National Park visitor centers, there are no detailed exhibits here. The visitor center has many short nature trails near it; the most popular is the Rainbow Trail, which leads to a view of the Taylor Slough, a very ecologically sensitive area.
