New Stadium Arena has a Hockey Team
by atufft
This multi-use indoor arena is now open and regularly features pro-ice hockey and big name musical talent. It's down by the ballpark and Weber point area, within walking distance of downtown. Browse the Stockton webpages for more information, but for wintertime sports watching and other events, this is one of two the places (See Bob Hope Theater). It's brand new, and has huge glass windows which look across the waterfront area toward Weber Point. Parking is easy in the parking structure, although free parking is generally pretty safe in the neighborhoods in the area. I don't know what the beer policy will be, but one should expect a gourmet selection of beers, wine, and food. This is a new stadium that won't stay in the tradition of the greasy hot dog only type sports concession.
California bread basket

Hello all,
I spent 8 weeks in Stockton, CA due to business. Most of my time was spent in class, and on the weekends I was either in San Francisco, Monterrey, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, Napa or Yosemite. Now don't get me wrong, Stockton is a nice place, there just isn't a lot to do there. I guess that's why on this page you will see many restaurants and the hotel that I stayed in.
Stockton is a city in central California, seat of San Joaquin County, and a deepwater port at the head of navigation on the San Joaquin River. It is an important warehousing, distribution, and processing center for the fertile San Joaquin Valley. Agriculture is the city's primary industry. Manufactures, in addition to numerous food items, include electronics, lumber, plastics, and automobile products. The city is served by Stockton Metropolitan Airport.
