Bed ok, breakfast not
Very nice location, although fairly near to Rancho California road which tends to be noisy during rush hour. But the view from the balcony of our room (mountains across the vineyards) made up for not being able to sleep with the window or door open.
The room was spacious (two queen-size beds; large bathroom with jacuzzi, two separate sinks and a shower stall), some of the hardware in the bathroom needed fixing, but nothing too serious.
If you are traveling with heavy luggage, make sure you don't require an elevator to get up to the second floor -- there ain't any.
Breakfast service and staffing of front desk did NOT begin at 8 am, as promised. If you have a high cholesterol level, don't stay here. The breakfast menu has nothing but eggs. No chance of getting a nice bowl of breakfast cereal with fruit, for example. You also better bring your own caffein-free tea. The breakfast staff (1st and 2nd nights: one (1) person) was friendly but not terribly professional. You had to have a good command of the Spanish language to understand the young man's English. He was very casually dressed, and his pants and tee-shirt never changed during our stay. Speed of service was ok, considering all the omelettes were prepared fresh.
Didn't take part in a wine tasting as that started at 5 pm. What do you do after that if you want to go out for dinner (because the Inn only serves evening meals on the weekend)? Call a taxi? Or drive under the influence? A later tasting time would have been preferable.
Altogether a nice experience, although room prices and staffing left something to be desired.
Unique Quality: Great views, nice spacious quiet room (if you keep the window closed).
