Travel Tips for Three Rivers

White Water Rafting :)

by Acore_Beauty_4_U_Luv

This one day trip is the best class 4 rafting experience in the southern California.
If you are looking for an action packed trip where previous class 4 paddling experience
is not a requirement, the Kaweah's definitely for you! All Saturday one day trips meet at 10:00 AM.
After check-in you'll board the shuttle bus for a ride to the put-in where a safety orientation and
paddling instruction will be given by our staff. Put-in location will depend upon water level and
experience of the participants. After a brief warm-up we'll encounter many class 4 rapids including
"Suicide Falls" and "The Flood". We'll pull over so you can relax while your guides prepare a satisfying buffet lunch.
After lunch we'll get back on the rafts and head into some of the biggest rapids of the day like "Upper and Lower Slickies",
and "Holiday Hole". We'll end up the day at Slickrock boat ramp at Lake Kaweah where our bus will meet us for a short ride
back to our meeting area. Plan to be back to your car by 4:00 PM. *Wetsuit
*Change of clothes for after the river.
*Swimsuit/ shorts (please be dressed in these when you check-in).
*Tennis shoes, sports sandals or wetsuit booties
*Sunscreen and lip ointment
*Drinking water for on the river (plastic bottles only)

Gateway to Sequoia

by chewy3326

Three Rivers is a dry, tiny town at the gateway to Sequoia National Park, consisting mainly of a few motels, two restaurants, a general store, and a post office. The location of the town isn't exactly convenient, either, and it's still a full hour's drive to Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park. But if you must base yourself outside the park, Three Rivers is the best place to stay. I spent a night at Three Rivers while getting between Giant Forest and Mineral King. In some areas of the town (which is stretched out along Generals Highway for about five-six miles) you can see Alta Peak, while in other areas you can Lake Kaweah. Summer is always hot here (About 90 degrees in June).

Three Rivers

"You must have a sense of humor..."

Three Rivers is a little town on the road to Kings Canyon national park.

Its got a couple of motels, a great pizza place and most importantly, a golf course!

I'd not played for a while and on the 2nd hole my approach shot went wide and the ball got wedged between the door of this caterpillar and the cabin. Needless to say, I took a drop...

Kaweah RIver

by grandmaR

Three Rivers is a place where the middle, east, north and south forks meet to create the Kaweah River flowing through town and into Kaweah Lake. It is also one of the last places you can get gas before you go to Kings Canyon/Sequoia National Park. It is 6 miles from the park entrance.

We stopped on our way in to let the children stretch their legs.

http://www.trailerisle.com/three.html is the website for the town, and it lists the following businesses.
