Drink (and Eat) German style at Alpine Village!
by marinarena
Here is the very popular setting for Oktober Fest in the greater L.A. area. Sure, it is one of the many kitschy german town within a bigger city. But all that matters here is the good German beer and sausage, right?
Local and tourists come for the official Oktoberfest and throughout the year to get their grub on of various European-style meals and also for nightly entertainment, inlcuding dance lessons, rock bands and fstivals, especially during the summer. Check out the calendar for current events!
Lot's of Sri Lankan Families live in Torrance
by supune
"Affluent Community"
Torrance is a very affluent L.A. suburb. It neighbors my hometown of Carson.
"Many Sri Lankan families"
I think I know about 10-12 Sri Lankan families that live in Torrance. There are also more that I have not met yet. One of my best friends even had Sri Lankan classmates when he was in North Torrance High School. I think it would have been cool to have other people that were like me when I was in high school. Most Sri Lankans here are very tight and know each other. I've only known parts of the San Fernando Valley to have more Sri Lankans than Torrance.
