Our only hotel stop on our trip south from Seattle to San Fransisco---used VRBO for the other rentals. Got free breakfast (just ok) with the price---about $140 total for the room with 2 queen beds---coffee provided in the room and good shower stuff...good location for checking out the wineries that abound in the area....
the room was clean and neat.
We have stayed at this hotel for years and were treated very shabbably by the clerk on duty at night. we had asked for an upstairs room and a quiet one and had booked our reservation a week in advance to make certain we could get the quiet room we wanted. When they arrived, they said the hotel was booked and they graciously gave us a room on the ground floor right on the busy and noisy street. i had some words with the clerk, and she told me she didnt like my attitude. later that evening, i asked for a wakeup call and we never got it.
i called and complained to the day manager but never heard back from her. Were fed up
and wont be back. Frankly, they dont care if youre upset or not.
Unique Quality: No outstanding qualities. Very rude desk clerk at night.
They dont honor their reservations
It's just impossible to get better service! The staff is amazingly well trained, friendly, and able to competently assist you in planning your stay in Ukiah. Part of the Hilton family, this hotel knows what customer service is all about!
The hotel is new, so all is in excellent condition and beautifully decorated. Towels are absorbent, not scratchy, and big enough to wrap around yourself. Pool, hot tub, courtyard, and coy pond provide a relaxing view from your balcony. In room internet access (if you bring your computer), hairdryers, coffee pots, iron & ironing board, mini refridgerators, & microwaves help make one's trip comfortable. Far enough away from the freeway to get a quiet, peaceful nights sleep. Not a good idea to wander around late at night after the shopping area closes due to homeless people. This area is safe - but walking around late at night will invite trouble.
Unique Quality: Applebees is across the street and provides room service until 11pm.
Wal-Mart, Food 4 Less, Michaels, and Staples are also across the street in case you forget anything hotel staff don't have on hand.
Savings Bank of Mendocino County has a branch at the other end of the block if you need banking services. They are an excellent local bank and have great customer service.
The hotel welcome book (located in your room) provides excellent ideas on how to spend your time & staff will happily help you make arrangements.
Great facility for meetings.
The best breakfast I have found! Breakfast is a wide variety of choices that changes daily. It generally includes coffee, fruit, cereal, bagles, & then the rest is a surprise. If you miss breakfast, a to go sack breakfast is available on your way out the door.
Hilton HHonors members get a free room upgrade if one is available.
Try Schat's Bakery across the street inside Friedman Brothers if you can't make it to the Schat's downtown by the Courthouse - it is soooo worth it!
Directions: From Hwy 101 take the Talmage exit west, turn left at the first stop light (you'll see a Jack In the Box & a Shell gas station to the left), Hampton Inn is about half a block up on the right.
