HELP! Need advice for apartment-hunting in Venice...

by bettyo70

Hi All,

I am currently living in West Hollywood and would like to move to the Venice area. For those of you who live in Venice or know it well, do LOFT APARTMENTS exist in Venice? Which streets would I look around to rent a loft?

Which areas should I avoid?

Also, can anyone give me an idea of what kind of monthly rent I would be paying?

Thanks a million,
Bet

Okay. Thanks, Harmonious!

P.S. I walk in LA...and take the bus. But then again, I'm from NYC originally.

Cheers,
Bet

I live in Venice, close to Main street and they are renting LOFTS at the cross of Main street and Abbot Kinney, or maybe they are selling, I'm not sure but next time I'll pass by I'll try to look. They are new buildings, one block from the beach

Travel Tips for Venice

Graffiti..

by DJ_Rolo

If you are into art then you should check out the Sea wall at Venice beach. It is filled with graffiti. The good thing is, it is Legal here. You are allowed to bring spray cans and hit it up. Usually with murals and bombs and not just tags. Its a pretty cool thing to see, guys painting while cops just drive by. There are a few walls and there are even trees and trash cans that get painted on.

When you are hungry ,yes Venice has food for you.

OCEAN FRONT WALK,VENICE,CA,90291

Walk down the walk!

by su_jen

Lotsa things to see, the infamous guy playing guitar on blades, the aluminium guy, and tons of artists that display their paintings artistically, and some display them on sand... There are people who give massages, hana tatoos, and hair braiding :) Love the hotdog there.

You have to walk or...

by bruingirl

You have to walk or roller-blade along the boardwalk. You will see so many interesting people. All sorts of street performers are out and about. Look for the bearded man dressed in all white! He is on roller-blades and carries a guitar which he will use to serenade you as you walk along. The more you are embarrassed, the more he will follow!! (it's rather humorous to watch some unsuspecting 'victim' attempt to get away from him!) There's always something going on here in Venice. There are soooo many sights and smells to take in that you will feel overwhelmed! Sitting on the beach on the southern-most part of Venice (bordering on Marina Del Rey) at night...drinking a couple beers...sitting on a blanket....watching the stars (the few that you can actually see in LA)....hearing the waves crash every 15 seconds. It's amazing and absolutely the best place to talk intimately! It's amazing how much people open up in such an environment.

Pretty and Ugly Bathrooms

by marinarena

Well, not exactly a favorite thing!

OK, mostly beach bathrooms are just plain disgusting ! This is the case also in Venice Beach- at least inside. One the exterior, however, bathrooms are quite artful like this one pictured.

If you are female and have "to go", remember that the stalls are not private!
