Tresspass and climb the hill to two-trees.
Follow Seaward avenue North to the end at Poli (foothill), turn right and drive until you pass the poinsettia pavilion on the left. Turn right and park in the residential area. Pick any trail across foothill
and go up. About 45 minutes round trip if youre in good shape. The thrift stores on main street downtown

Eric Erickson's Fish Co. has a perfect location on the Ventura Pier that provides a priceless addition to any plate you order. I had the Ahi-Tuna and the meal wasn't to die for, but the company at the bar and the ocean waves and Pacific view while I ate made up for it. I came back to this place for drinks at sunset a few times, while not recommended for the best food, it does have the best view in Ventura. The Black and Tan lol
Although this building now houses Jonathan's restaurant, it was an Italian grocery store for 109 years, built in 1877 for Alex Gandolfo who then passed it to his nephew Nicola Pierano whose family operated it for another 96 years until the last Peirano retired in 1986.
While it's sad to see a store like Peirano's close, it's nice that the building has been preserved. I'm not sure when the murals on the side of the building date to but the colorful Ghiradelli sign on the side was what I liked best about the building and not just because I like their chocolate!

What a wonderful museum. They have done a wonderful job in how they display all their exhibit. Very professional I must say. I appreciate how they educate the public in how the various cultures created and molded Ventura. They have many traveling exhibits on display throughout the year. So please check their web site.
Parking:
There is a free parking lot on the West side of the Museum, which is accessible from both Main and Santa Clara Streets. There is also parking along the street on both Main and Santa Clara Streets.
Museum Hours:
10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Closed Mondays.
Also closed for New Year's, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
