Travel Tips for Visalia

Downtowne Visalia, Main Street :)

by Acore_Beauty_4_U_Luv

Downtown Visalia Can Be Found 72 Miles North of Bakersfield and 43 Miles South of Fresno. Just Off Highway 99 about 6 miles East on Highway 198.

Downtown Visalians is a membership organization in excess of 600 individual businesses, service providers and professionals who organized and received their incorporation papers in 1963. The majority of our members employ fewer than 20 people. The City of Visalia whose offices are located downtown employ 877 and the County of Tulare retains a presence downtown with nearly 200 employees. A local newspaper checks in with 190 employees and the Radisson Hotel with125. Five more larger employers contribute over 300 employees to our day-time population of every day shoppers, clients and diners. Our largest employer is Kaweah Delta District Hospital with 2,630 employees.
Main Street during the Christmas season is beautiful. Window shopping is enjoyable year round.

Sequoia

by Russophile

Visalia is right at the edge of Sequoia national forest, the focus of this page. Sequoia is a magnificent forest filled with amazing large red wood trees. The most famous and largest is called General Sherman and is touted as the worlds largest living organism. Sequoia offers more than just beutiful trees as on a clear day you can see snow capped mountains on the horizon and the green fertile valleys of the San Joaquin miles and miles away. The picture was taken near Moro Rock in the early spring.

Back side of the Sierras.
