Well its a really nice umm small town i guess for Cali. but it is nice , they have bike trails and or walking thats pretty nice , cool down town area ummm hmm what else , i dont know to much about it but my sister lives there and i went for a visit and i liked it . There is a place called Mt. Diablo and im not talking about the building down town but an actual mountain you can drive to the top of and check stuff out , it has some cool history behind it. Ahh They have a Harley dealership :) and some great places to eat . Other than that its not to far from alot of other cities and other stuff to do . Happy Days and good luck on your move.

Travel Tips for Walnut Creek

Downtown Walnut Creek offers an abundance of quality restaurants for any taste or price range. It is well worth checking out the multitude of eateries. Some of the best places to eat in the East Bay are there. Many shops ranging from large department stores like Macys to small boutiques can be found downtown. The downtown is pedestrian friendly, but parking can become a bit rare. Fortunately several free or low cost parking lots exist to ease the situation. The most interesting region of downtown is encompassed by Civic Drive, California Boulevard, Newal Avenue, and Broadway.

There are three pools at Heather Farm--diving well, lap/recreation and baby. Lawn and covered patio, great place to cool off. Also a lovely and popular kid park and picnic area outside the swiming facility .Don't miss Heather Farm Garden center which has a Rose garden in addition to lots of other areas to roam. There are a couple of sand vollyball pits at various places too

"Walnut Creek, CA"

When I moved to CA, Walnut Creek actually had walnut groves, but I moved at the wrong time as the groves were being demolished quite rapidly and "growth" was the operative word.

The "down town" I knew in the 70's has been totally demolished and reconstructed into a "modern" mall like setting. It is actually quite pleasant and 'sanitary' but leaves the old memories drifting....

Today "down town" Walnut Creek is a high fashion, top end, destination with restaurants like Va de Vi, Ruth's Chris and shopping at Tiffany's.

Not to mention the "normal" automotive street candy (pictured).

"Great Food"

Va de Vi is one of my favorite restaurants. While the price is high, you definitely get what you pay for. The Chef's creations are somewhat eclectic but the wine parings are incredible.
