Appreciate the Small Town Feel
by marinarena
Talk a walk here and enjoy the goregous small town feel here. There is just not many other cities like YL in the county or in greater Los Angeles. This community takes pride in its look, seeking to beautify. One can see this along many streets here. The center dividers, sidewalks and lawns are kept up well by landscapers. Trees stand tall here , hardly ever razed. For that nice stroll, go to one of the lovely parks. I lived in an apartment here on a hill. Many mornings I woke up to the sight of reindeer feeding on grass! Oh what big, beautiful black eyes they gave me! I miss them the most in YL.
Secondly though, I miss the often short wait in line at the post office and bank in YL! Overall, the congestion of people here is minimal!
Smile, 'cause people smile at you...

People in Yorba Linda tend to be very friendly, remarkably so. Shop owners and customer service persons are geniunely nice, helpful and easy to talk to, without showing fakeness or "put-ons". Strangers walking around tend to say hello or greet you in the market , on the street, any wherever else. Whereas in most major parts of the city where people don't give a damn about you, Yorba Linda is just different. Thank God!
Yorba Linda- Indeed the "Land of Gracious Living"

"Under the Spell of YL"
Ah, Yorba Linda! This is the story of the little paradise of a place to live in Orange county- that is, if you enjoy peace and nature. I had the pleasure of living here for about 2 years. Where I was, people say hello more often, traffic is remarkably minimal (for southern Californian standards) and yes, people ride horses. Well, the riders are few in number but they are out here sometimes. White picket horse trails are found along some of the main streets.
"Nixon Library"
The major tourist site in YL is The Nixon Library. See Things to Do!!
"Lovely Roses"
Here are two roses in the Nixon Library Garden. Throughout the town, there are lovely floral landscapes which are well-kept.

Yorba Linda is a quiet sleepy community in Southern California. Its main claim to fame is that it is the birthplace of former U.S. President Richard M. Nixon, and it is where his Presidential Library is located. Please go to the Richard Nixon Library & BirthplaceTravelogue
