View from Aspen Mountain
Pretty mountain
Find a map of the area and hike to Cathedral Lake. (About 15 miles or so from Aspen.) You begin in Aspen trees, hit the evergeens and finally end up above the tree line. Here's a link: http://www.hikingincolorado.org/cath.html
I was in Aspen only briefly for a grass doubles volleyball tournament known as the Motherlode during Labor Day weekend in 1997.
It was pretty ironic that I loved to ski and yet I didn't ski at all in a famous ski town. I didn't even go during ski season! So someday I will be back to ski there.
So I'm sorry that I don't have many tips for you regarding Aspen since it was a short trip and most of my time was spent playing volleyball or trying to recuperate from a day of volleyball.
