View from Red Mountain
The road leads to the town of Snowmass, not the ski resort but the town itself. The first few miles can be driven by car, but then four wheel drive is required.
The road passes along Snowmass Creek and has views of wide open valleys with Capitol Peak and Snowmass mountain in the distance.

Our family has visited aspen yearly since I was a child, there's a reason we keep returning, it's great!

Aspen is different from many other skiing resorts because it has a town rich with history that was here before the ski area.
A lot of ski areas have manufactured towns with hardly any character, or history. The town of Aspen is a different story!
