Hi Magda, Keystone to Aspen is 3 hours drive. Aspen is indeed the most expensive of all the Colorado ski towns. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any hostels in either area. You might check www.craigslist.com for a room (or even put an ad on there for your own room). You can advertise on craigslist.com free.

Good luck.

It is better if you saty at Gleenwood Springs which is 1 hour from Aspen, I heard there is a hostel of 12 per night! and you take the bus to aspen it is 6 dollars , good luck, i will be there next month :)

Travel Tips for Aspen

Aspen Dining

"Dining in Aspen"

There is a wide variety of places to dig in and grub down in Aspen. Most of them are high end. If you are on a budget you are most likely going to be stuck with bar food. I'll give you a few local tips for big and small budgets.

If you are a high roller visiting Aspen, make your reservations ahead of time. You can find contact info and tips for restaurants at www.foodieaspen.com/ - Use this as your starting point, and you can't really go wrong. Spots you should check out are Campo de Fiori, Kenichi, Pinon's, Montagna, and Matsuhisa.

For those of you with kids or on a tighter budget, check out Boogie's, Little Annie's, and Cantina. All great spots. Have a great time!
