The statue called “HANK”, the cowboy has promoted the Pikes Peak or bust rodeo since 1939. He was created and named by Stanley Reed, a staff artist with the Gazzette/Telegraph, at the request of Spencer Penrose, founder of the rodeo.

I recommend that you have a good pair of tennis shoes.
Also pack all different kinds of clothes. If its in the summer it gets very hot there. Make sure you bring a jacket if you plann on going up Pikes Peak. If you have asthma, bring your inhailer!!! Drink lots of water when your in the mountains. Dont forget to chew gum on the way down from the mountains. It will help pop your ears. Have sunscreen and lots of water.
There are many bike trails around COS. One is in Palmer Park, but it's more offroad. The others, like Monument Creek Trail as smooth gravel trails that extend for quite a ways. The T-Gap Trail (Templeton Gap Trail) extends north-south, basically parallel to the Monument Creek Trail, but is paved for much of the way. I used part of that trail to bike to work every day in the Spring of 2001.

The Underground's start of a positive trend with a new (potentially monthly) fabulous night called "BackTrax" specializing in the fabulous tunes of the alternative 70's/80's with one of Colorado Springs' hottest DJ's ... DJ Gypsy. The atmosphere was stepping back into the past with patrons dressed up in their 80's attire. The music spectacular, and the dancing fanatic. Fun was had all night long. Lots of drinking and flirting all around. I hope this night stays as it would certainly be a blessing to Colorado Springs. Kudos all around to DJ Gypsy and the Underground. Rating: 5 stars out of 5. Front Range BBQ is located in Old Colorado City. In addition to their indoor section, they also have outdoor seating where they'll let you bring your well-behaved, leashed dog. I favor their pulled pork bbq sandwich. It's meaty and delicious. It's not wet bbq and it's not vinegared bbq. They serve the bbq sauce on the side and you choose how much you want to add.
The sandwiches come with your choice of one side and the plates get two sides.
Service can be hit or miss. I've had good and I've had barely adequate. So you're kind of rolling the dice. That said, it's still good food.
