Pioneers Museum
by OlenaKyiv
Pioneers Museum is located in a former El Paso County Courthouse built in 1903.
Admission is free.
You can see old renovated court room, unfortunately only from the doorway, an old carriage. I think most interesting is exhibition of Native Americans clothes, household things, pottery, and art work, located on the first floor. Actually museum is not so large so you won’t spend a lot of time there.
Address: 215 South Tejon Street
Phone: 719-385-5990
Hours: Year round Tuesday – Saturday 10am to 5 pm, June-August Sundays 1 pm-5 pm.

Rafting
by PelLihi
Colorado Springs is close to the Colorado River, which means --> nice rafting!! The river is huge, and during the snowmelt you better be aware when trying to "ride" it! There are several spots where you can rent the gear and a guide too. The only thing you need to bring are trunks or a swimmsuit (ladies only *lol*).

Tavern Restaurant
by goingsolo about Tavern Restaurant
The Tavern is one of the Broadmoor's more casual dinner selections, although you'd never know it from the prices or menu selections. Lobster, seafood and prime rib are the staples here. The restaurant also has a live band, which caters to the decidedly mature crowd which dines here. We're talking the best of Wayne Newton. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm just trying to paint the scene.
Dinner was pricey but excellent. Sauteed crabmeat with dijonaise sauce (at least that's what my notes say), which was delicious. The crabmeat was very fresh, despite having been flown in to oceanless Colorado, prepared with a light sauce and served on toast. The prime rib was absolutely delicious as well, although this was way too much food for one person.
Jake & Telly's Greek Cuisine
by leafmcgowan
A pleasant dining experience overlooking the historic downtown of Old Colorado City. Outside or inside, friendly staff, and excellent food ... the finest of Greek Cuisine and a fancy wine bar. The food is as good as the service. Delicious menu choices, though higher than normal cost. Rating: 4 stars out of 5. Visited 6/24/06.
