visiting with teenageers!!

by right1205

Any suggestions on public swimming pools or water acitivities for some teenagers in the colorado springs area. Any other ideas for teens besides the normal tourist attractions which we have already seen 2 or 3 times in the past. Appreciate any ideas you might have.

I live in Denver and has recently visited Colorado Springs Air force Academy. Tourists are welcome. my husband just showed his driver's license and we are able to see the different planes on display and the soaring chapel. The views are also spectacular especially when you see pilots being trained.

Travel Tips for Colorado Springs

Snow

by Ewingjr98

Colorado Springs averages just 50 inches of snow per year but in its worst years snowfall can approach 90 inches over the season (as opposed to Buffalo, NY which averages over 100 inches). The unique things about the snow at this high, dry environment are that it can snow throughout 9 months of the year (except June, July, & August) but the dry conditions ensure the snow does not last too long.

Sculpture of Katharine Lee Bates, the author of “America the Beautiful” by Omaha artist John Lajba. As a storytellers say Katharine made a trip to Pikes Peak in 1893, which inspired her to write four original stanzas to what later became America the Beautiful. Piece was published in 1895. Although she rewrote some sections, it has remained the same since 1904 when part of the third stanza was altered. Prior to this time the author received criticism for the word “beautiful” but she refused to change the term since she claimed it best described America. Miss Bates retained the copyright to insure there would be no misprints or deliberate changes of her beloved hymn and it has remained the same ever since then.

late night snack

If you ever find yourself up in the wee hours in the morning with a rumbling in your belly, noting is better then Albertacos. It is on the corner of Austin Bluffs and Barns. They make the best breakfast burritos in town! One warning, it is not a place to go during the day. I have found that it is only good after a long night of drinking and fun.

I admit that this is a bit off...

I admit that this is a bit off travel, but I know that many people are interested in music. For rentals and sales or questions, go to Rice Music at 410 South 8th Street (80905) 719.634.3717; or 4614 Austin Bluff's Parkway (80918) 719.260.6177.

I am trying to fill in all the areas of this city, and music is important to many people. So, if you're on a road trip, stop by Rice Music. 1.800.444.RICE. It's a great place for music lovers to visit!

Best Chicken Salad Sandwich in the US

by ATXtraveler about Cottage on Kiowa

This is the best place for a good breakfast or lunch in Colorado Springs... I would highly recommend you to come in, and ask for Stephanie.. the owner, and tell her that I sent you...you will get an extra special meal. The Chicken Salad Sandwich, and one of her cookies!
