Pikes Peak Avenue
by OlenaKyiv
The main street Pikes Peak Avenue was named by Palmer. I understand why he called this street in such a way, because if you look west, you will see Pikes Peak in all its beauty, except rainy and foggy days, of course. That is why it is my favorite.
All Types of Weather
by aja28
I suggest packing clothing to suit all types of weather. In the summer you may need a sweater in the morning and at night. If you go into the mountains, you may need a coat. I would follow the common suggestion of packing so that you can wear layers. Frequently, in the summer we may have rain showers every afternoon for about 20 minutes. Don't let that discourage you - it will soon clear up - even though it doesn't look like it!
Also, don't feel like you have to dress up to go out to eat. In most very nice restuarant you will see people wearing jeans and sweatshirts. This town is VERY casual. There are only a handfull of places in town I would dress up to visit....like: The Cliffhouse, the Pepper Tree, some Broadmoore restuarants - but that's it. Bring some mesquito repelent. If you're outside in the evening - you may need it.
View of Ute Pass Area
by basstbn
Ute Pass is generally regarded as an area along US Highway 24 from Old Colorado City through Manitou Springs, Cascade, Green Mountain Falls, and Woodland Park. This pass through the mountains was originally blazed by the Ute Indians, then used by the Spanish explorers and white settlers. The region is now a popular resort area.
Rendezvous Martini Bar
by leafmcgowan about Rendezvous Martini Bar
A high priced, but artistically aesthetic, metropolitan, martini bar located downtown Colorado Springs, on Tejon. Good service, and good martinis. However they are a bit over-priced for my tastes - $9 martinis. But if you've got money to blow, this is the place to go. Rating : 3 stars out of 5.
Iron Springs Chateau Dinner...
by Gaspard
Iron Springs Chateau Dinner Theatre. The theatre presentation is done up in an old style Melodrama, with the villain, the hero, and the beautiful girl. Some great entertainment in between the acts as well. The dinner was great. I had never been to a dinner theatre where you felt like you were being served in someones kitchen. Pass the potatoes! Lots of fun and a good meal.
The atmosphere was very rustic. As mentioned, it was just like eating at someones house, where you served yourself from bowls of potatoes, chicken and vegetables that the waitress brought to your table.
