Don't try to figure out street numbers
by rexvaughan
This picture was taken, obviously, at 123rd Place. Nothing unusual about it except that about two streets before I got here was 1st Avenue and about a half mile further on is 9th Avenue. My daughter lives on 7th Avenue Circle which is the next street over from 9th Avenue. Go figure. This is all in the Broomfield area and I am not sure about Denver as a whole, but would guess it is as confusing.

The mountain streams between Denver and Central city some areas you can splash around in ankle deep water, some areas are deep enough one could swim, although I wouldn't recomend it, the current can be VERY strong and make you realize how much stronger mother nature is than you. There was a restaurant/bar called 'Bobby Mcgee's' they had a dance floor in the middle of the bar, they had a D.J. There was a happy hour from either 5-7 or 5-8, 2for 1 drinks, with free finger foods, and all the peel and eat shrimp you can eat for .99, then there was a late night happy hour starting at 10 or 11pm, again 2for1 drinks with hot food(hot dogs, hamburgers, taco's) and veggies, They had the best bartenders, it was the funnest place for night life.

Civic Center Park
by OlenaKyiv
Civil Center Park located between the Colorado State Capiton and City and County building was built owing to initiative of Denver's mayor Speer. His ideas were based on the City Beautiful movement which influenced him during his visit to the 1893 Chicago Columbian Exposition. Speer was a civic idealist who argued that one way to improve humanity was to offer it an uplifting urban environment.
In 1917 Edward H. Bennett, a Chicago architect and planner, produced a plan of the park. In 1919 his plan was adopted and construction began in 1920.

Packing List
by nicolej
Big backpack if you plan on traveling up to the mountains, etc. In the Winter you should bring a wide range of clothing because our winters are very mild for the most part and, while you may need a sweater and long underwear you may also just need a t-shirt and khakis. It all depends on what Mother Nature decides to bring with her that day. Our winter weather can change on a dime from 20 degrees and snow to 70 degrees and sunny.
In the summer it gets ridiculously hot here. It's just really unbelievable because most people don't associate heat with Colorado. The summers are hot and dry. You want to pack VERY light clothing (shorts, light tanks - no jeans or other heavy pants or shirts). If you are planning on going to the mts. then bring a few warmer things (sweaters, fleece, jeans), as it gets cold at night in the mts.
OH! Bring a rain coat also as we get thunderstorms pretty regularly in the spring and summer.
