Denver / Boulder nightlife
by cam_t
Hi VT
We will be in the Denver / Boulder area from a Sunday to a Thursday in August and are just wondering what the nightlife will be like then. We are aware that these are college cities and may be quieter than norm in the summer and also it not being a fri or sat. Hopefully it wont be too quiet!!
Thanks for any advice or tips,
Cam

Denver won't be quiet. It's not a college town in any way, so it's not at all affected by school being out. The area around University of Denver, maybe, but not LoDo and the Downtown area.
In Boulder, Pearl Street is still fairly happening in the summer. The Hill quiets down a bit though. It is a college town, but it's also a pretty large city with plenty of year-round residents.
The bars should all be open though. There are some good specials, at least on Pearl Street, during the week.

In downtown Denver Larimer St, 16th Avenue and the lodo area will all be active and are all within walking distance of each other.
Its been a while since Ive been there, but Im guessing Denver will have more going on than Boulder during the week, but I might be wrong.
I cant remember the name of it, but there is a good, popular microbrewery and restaurant across the street from the train station in lower downtown (lodo).

Well I was in Denver for a convention....so in my humble opinion you must attend a Sci-Fi convention where Robert Duncan McNeill is the special guest (Tom Paris, of Star Trek Voyager) and meet a lot of on-line friends, and pretend that you are 20 and not 43. ;-) Meeting all my on-line friends, and getting a big hug and blue-eyed smile from Robbie McNeill.
The Auraria - The St. Francis Conference Center
by OlenaKyiv
The center faces Speer Boulevard. It has a beautiful lounge with a all-glass-windows side protected from a sun by outside trees and by inside palms. Large lamps that look like balls give a lot of soft light. The lightness and cheerfullness of the place gives a fame to this place for different ceremonies, including weddings and banquets.
The Center’s unique design won an Award of Honor for Denver architect Marvin Hatami, which was presented by the American Institute of Architects in 1982.
Address: 1030 St. Francis Way (next to Elizabeth Church) Every year during spring break Metro State Association of International female students holds its gatherings there, so called "tea parties." This is how I was acquinted with St. Conference Center. I also must confess that center's lounge was one of the reasons I attended those tea parties, because it was nice to sit in that high society looking lounge.
