I'm visiting Denver the week of Thanksgiving and I need to know what to do (other than ski of course). I like beer, wine, hot springs, nightlife (even extraordinary things), gambling, and sports!
Where are you staying? Will you have a car?
Denver is all about beer. Not really a wine region. There are several breweries in the LoDo area near Coors Field. My favorite is Flying Dog, and they give free tours with free samples, including that of the distillery next door. Wynkoop is also very good but just a brewpub (no tour).
The nightlife in Denver is also generally around LoDo. Lots of bars and clubs.
There is a casino in Black Hawk that's popular with the area's gambling crowd, but it's relatively far away from Denver and, although there are shuttles, I'm not sure how to get on them (only seen them driving down the highway).
For sports, the Broncos will be playing when you're there. Their stadium is near Downtown along a light rail line. The Nuggets will also be in-season.
Hey there-
I would recommend staying in downtown Denver as the night life is walking to distance to which ever hotel you're going to be staying at. If you want to gamble Blackhawk is only approximately 1/2 away! I'm not sure if the Broncos is playing at home when you're here, but there are plenty of sports bar you can go to to watch college football/the NFL games or basketball. Also check out the 16th St Mall which is a series of street blocks full of restaurants (I'd recommend Magianno's hidden on Glenarm and 16th St- delicious Italian restaurant) and bars!!!
Hmmm, I'm not sure where to go fro the hot springs :)
It's definitely a lot of fun here!!!!!!!!!!!

Visit the State Capitol building. Denver is Colorado's Capitol and, like many states, has a domed capitol building. The dome on this building overlayed with gold leaf mined from Colorado.
There's a nice park for a picnic between the capitol building and Denver's City & County building.
The lower half of the Colorado National Bank building was built in 1915 in a neoclassical design featuring marble from the Colorado Yule Marble Company. The upper half of the building was added as an addition in 1926 with a slightly more modern interpretation of the neoclassical base.

It took a couple of these houses before it dawned on me that they have a 2 car garage and then a small 3rd one with a separate door. My daughter explained to me that the 3rd is for snowmobiles! I suspect they get used for all sorts of things and I only saw them in newer and more expensive neighborhoods. This is a new development advertising homes starting at the "mid $400s." I could use a third garage just for junk.
One for the armchair fans. We spent a few hours in here one afternoon with nothing else better to do (honestly, the weather was awful).
It was a nice enough setting with plenty of TVs showing different Ice Hockey Play-off matches.
All the normal US food and beers were available.
