This is a very good motel with fresh decor. We were only there two nights and found it worked perfectly for our visit. It is on the outskirts of town but this small town makes it easy to get around. It was clean and had a good staff. Continental breakfast was also good and part of the package.
Unique Quality: Just good clean basic accommodations.

Beware of charges
Beware customers- Doing an antique show in Estes Park in May of 2008, we selected the Best Western Silver Saddle. The hotel was terrific in terms of room and breakfast. We encounted two instances however of extra costs which is why I'm writing this negative review and warning potential customers of this hotel. We had made a reservation in advance for two nights and decided we would like to stay an additional night. When informing the desk clerk upon arrival we were told that to stay an additional night would require a room upgrade. I asked why we could not retain our room at the rate given for two nights and take another room for the added night. The clerk said that management did not like guests to change rooms. So this required us to pay an additional $20 per night resulting in a $40 addition in cost I was not expecting. Upon checking out, I simply thought I would be turning in my keys and getting a receipt. I was informed that I owed $36.25 in phone charges. I was baffled as I had used my own pre-paid phone card to make a call at the hotel. I was told that their hotel charged the customer if you made a phone call over 30 minutes. I was charged $36.25 for being on the phone 22:20 minutes longer than allowed, even though I used my own pre-paid phone card. I was told the rule was in their directory. So, if you decide upon this hotel, do read the directory so you are not charged for something at the end of your stay that you are not expecting. I had no idea I would be charged for using the phone when using my own phone card! I did make a complaint to Best Western, but nothing really transpired from the contact so beware of this hotel in regards to overcharging.
Less than "Best" Western
My husband is a BW fan, so we stayed at this motel during our first trip to EP in 2003.
The room was okay, no real problem, but nothing special.
The host was not the friendliest person. He seemed more interested in setting down the rules. Those included that all breakfast food MUST be consumed in the breakfast room (a charming little room). It did not matter that there might have been someone in the party who did not feel great and wished to eat in the room. Rules are rules. Also, breakfast did not begin until 7:00 am. There seemed to be no realization that some people like to be up and out earlier than that. Rules are rules.
Also, there is no real lobby, only a small check-in area. Given that certain members of one's party may wish to nap at different times, it can be nice to have a comfortable lobby available for others in the party. That is not an option here.
We chose other accommodations for our later trips to EP.
