What a great place!! I adored the river that ran next to it,, and the swings and the gazebo next to it. ...,so soothing, Free internet and coffee and sweets for breakfast. Not pretentious, but homey with a wonderful staff!
Very nice accommodations for extended stay

We were one of many family reunions staying at the Silver Moon in July 06. The rooms were spacious, very comfortable and inviting. Much to our delight, they were decorated with hand-made quilts making each room unique. The front office had movies to borrow (on the honor system), games for kids and adults and even walking sticks to borrow for a hike. The location is ideal. We could walk to shops and restaurants and the property is connected to a large pavilion that hosts summer concerts. The only downfall was limited parking. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and will return.
Could not be cuter...Perfect Location

We just returned from Estes Park and a two night stay at the Silver Moon Inn. This hotel is located right in the historic district. It is such a "colorado" setting and such a cute building. We stayed in 218 which overlooks the river and has a fireplace. the room was large and clean and had a balcony with a patio bistro set. Very nice. My parents stayed at the Comfort Inn and were very sad they had not chose the Silver Moon when they saw our setting and our room. The only negitive thing I could possibly say is that the lady that checked us in was such a ding bat. Reminded me of someone who maybe did too many drugs in her younger days and was now missing a few brain cells. She eneded up giving us one key to our room and one key to 219! We didn't discover this until hours later. Dont' let that keep youf rom this wonderful Inn You will be very pleased by staying here.

The service from the owners was first class, the room and the setting was perfect. Nothing like waking up to the sound of the river and the Elk calling to each other. I'm already looking forward to another visit.
Great location, nice place

With so many different kinds of places to stay in Estes, we wanted someplace moderately priced and close to town. The Silver Moon is a nice little hotel one block from the main street, connected by a riverwalk. Very convenient for going out in the evening--not that Estes has much of a nightlife. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished, the staff was friendly, and coming back to a room with the sound of the stream and the smell of the woodburning fire outside was pure autumn heaven for me.
So cute!

We stayed in a room with a king bed and a fireplace. It was very nicely decorated and had a good view of the river. We used the fireplace that night and it worked great. It was in a great location off the main road so it was very quiet. The hotel is in walking distance to the main part of town, but we didn't try it as it was very cold and windy the night we stayed there. The hotel staff was friendly.
Convenient, Clean & Quiet

This motel is in a good location on the Fall River. Close to town but out of the hustle and bustle of the traffic and tourists.
The rooms are a reasonable size. Our room (117) in the newer part of the motel was a good size with a gas fireplace. We were next to the pool and hot tubs but never had a problem with noise as it was snowing and not really pool weather. Wireless internet worked well in our room.
Breakfast was very basic. Packaged muffins, coffee, and fruit juice. No where to sit and eat, just pick up what you want and leave.
Disappointed

After reading all the positive reviews on tripadvisor, I suppose we expected too much. We stayed in one of the less expensive rooms, just under $80 per night in the off season (Oct. 10 & 11). The room was very small, very dated, very drab, and could have been cleaner. The location is close enough to easily walk to downtown and the location on the river is nice but it's not like the river is meandering down a wooded slope, more like confined in a concrete ditch as it is channeled along the front of the motel and on through the town. Rocky Mountain National Park is about a ten or fifteen minute drive from the hotel which was nice but there are many other places closer. I'm sure there are better choices - will try to find one next time.
We Liked It !

Stayed a couple nights in this small motel in early June 2007 and really liked it. Not a 5-star hotel, but it's very nice for a motel in a mountain town. Our room was large. The two of us had a king size bed and leather couch (queen hideabed). The gas fireplace was a nice touch, as was the mountain scene quilt hung on the wall. The bathroom was clean and nice and there was ample closet space. We were in a newer section, I believe. I suppose rooms 117-120 and 217-220 are all very similar. We were in room 120, at the end, next to the Estes Performance Park...a small outdoor stage. I suppose this could be a little noisy or busy if you were trying to nap during a concert, so maybe one of the other rooms would be better. I don't know what typically occurs at his venue, but the only activity during our stay was a high school orchestra around noon time, and it was very nice. I do not know anything about the interiors of the other older(?) rooms. Besides the more-than-adequate accommodations, we stayed here for the LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. This place is right on the Fall River (a small river). All the rooms face the river and have a patio or balcony, then a sidewalk and a little green grass to the river -- maybe 15 feet altogether from your door. Window open and rushing river noise was beautiful!! The grassy strip long the river has picnic tables and gas grills provided by the Silver Moon Inn. It's all private Silver Moon property: sidewalk, grassy area, river bank. On top of that, the Estes Park central business district (tourist district) is just a short block away ... a very easy walk. Next time we want to stay near downtown Estes Park, we will definitely try our best to get into this place.
Nice place to stay

We stayed at the Silver Moon for 2 nights. We were pleasently surprised. It was a perfect place to stay if you are visiting the national park. The entrance was about 5 miles away. The staff and guests were all friendly. They have several BBQ grills, plenty of seating and even a fire pit that are all overlooking the small river that runs throught the property. We even saw 6-7 elk munching on the landscaping. The hotel is less than a block away from the downtown area which has many shops and resturants. Our room was really small, but it was cozy. It had a mini fridge and a microwave. overall it was a really decent place.
