Be Prepared

The key to dressing in Colorado regardless of the time of year is to LAYER. The weather can change in an instant, the motto is "if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes it will change!" If you are visiting in the Summer, be sure to have bug spray or more specifically mosquito spray, trust me West Nile is not FUN! Bring a good camera! Colorado is such a beautiful place you could take pictures non-stop. If you are still using film you can find it all over for reasonable prices if you go to Walgreens or the like. For those with digital cameras be sure you have plenty of batteries, or your camera is fully charged!
Cloverleaf Greyhound Racing

This is located about 10 minutes south of Ft. Collins in Loveland, just off the interstate. Live racing comes and goes here, so be sure to check up on it at the website prior to making your plans. You must be 18 to enter the track. The most fun can be had on Friday and Saturday nights, when they race under the lights starting after 7:00. Generally, there are 15 races, minimum bets of $2. Throw in a beer and a few bucks for some programs, and you've got a relatively inexpensive, yet exciting evening.
Really good Chinese food

My brother, sister-in-law and I were very impressed with Jasmine Garden when we ate here in June 2007. The food was very fresh, well-prepared, and nicely seasoned. It was definitely a grade or two better than the average Chinese restaurant, we though - and we all liked the low-key, elegant and restrained atmosphere as well.
Jasmine Garden is located in a smallish shopping center about a mile from the CSU campus.
I Scream for Ice Cream!

I can't leave out Walrus Ice Cream, which has been a town staple for as long as I can remember. Not only does it have character and a plethora of flavors, but it's all homemade and they make a fun joke flavor every week. I can't even say which ice cream flavor is best. The cool thing is, if you're watching calories you can still indulge-there's usually a fruitage or two on the menu that's made with just juice but still delicious!

3 Margaritas has been around since I last lived in Fort Collins - over 8 years ago. I love it then and I continue to drop by when I have a chance.
With the colorful atmosphere and excellent food quality, its a cute place to grab a bite to eat of authenitc Mexican. As always, I'm a huge fan of the cheese and onion enchiladas. It comes with rice and beans and is frankly a ton of food!

A: "I-70 from Grand Junction to Denver closes when it snows a lot. There are also wrecks and truck jacknifes that'll delay you quite a bit. I once had to wait about 6 hours..."
