Embassy Suites on Havana Road.
$100.00 per night Good freeway accessability and price. Downtown hotels are outrageous and resorts are too. We stayed here and drove to different resorts every day.

Holiday Inn Express

by gipper84 about Holiday Inn Express

Holiday Inns are usually pretty nice hotels, and I generally recommend them to all my friends who travel to different parts of the U.S. You really can't go wrong with a Holiday Inn, because even though they are a national chain, there are expectations that management makes sure is followed. For one thing the rooms are always kept in really good condition with a fairly comfortable bed, and a small table with a tv, and other electronic amentities. The restrooms are usually decent sized compared to most hotels, and the room service is pretty good. I have never had a real problem when staying at a Holiday Inn. I have stayed in 3 or 4 before; one in Mechanicsville, one in VA Beach, one in Mrytle Beach, and one in downtown Richmond, all of which were fine. I like the fact that when I leave my room for the day, room service is quick to get in and clean the room thoroughly before you return. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you need a decent priced room, and don't want to wind up at a roach motel. Holiday Inns also usually have a nice sized conference room in the hotel which can be used for business meetings or get together parties for good VT friends. I usually enjoy the pools at the Holiday Inns. For whatever reason the pools at these hotels are usually nicer, and kept up well. The only problem is alot of them are outdoors, so in the winter you are pretty much screwed, and if the weather is not kind to you that can ruin a good day at the pool.

If you have money, stay at one of the very nice hotels provided, but if not, there are plenty of bed&breakfast and some hostels too.

Cheap Hotels Downtown?

by beatchfre

Hi guys,

An opportunity has arisen allowing me to visit Denver this weekend. I don't have much money right now, so I'm trying to find a budget hotel downtown - preferably within walking distance of bars/shops. Can anyone recommend a good, clean and cheap hotel. Something that's a short taxi ride away would also be acceptable. Thanks in advances for any info.

Cheers,
Lee

by tuamotu

Hello. i haven't decided yet where we sleep when we'll go to las vegas.
i like the following hotels: (good price and good quality)
alladdin hotel
luxor hotel
the venetian(maybe i can find this tariff: 179$ a night)
excalibur
which hotels do you suggest me, please?
what are best buffets in las vegas?

I had a great stay at the Flamingo and its in a great location - centre strip with direct access onto the strip!

Of the hotels you list the Venetian is the best and Excalibur is the worst. I don't like buffets much but some people like the Paris and the Bellagio buffets. For the same price as a buffet you can eat at a real restaurant. They are no longer the bargains they used to be.

#1 Venetian
#2 Alladin
#3 Luxor
#4 Excalibur

I usually find buffet food to be bland, pre-fab, cold, and over-processed. I was, however, pleasantly suprised by the food at The Golden Nugget downtown. While the buffet and the selection is not as BIG as some of the others, the QUALITY of the food was SUPERB. Flavorful, HOT, beautifully presented.

Age restrictions on hotels?

by jimmy_brookes

I was wondering if there are any age restrictions on US hotels. Every hotel I have checked seems to say you have to be 21. Would this be the same if I was traveling with my parents (i'm 18) and they were to book a room in the hotel? Would I be able to have my own room even though i'm only 18?

I can't speak for EVERY lodging place

by PR-7

But, if your parents paid for two rooms AND were physically present at check-in, the owner wouldn't care who slept in what room. Oedipus could sleep in a hotel room with his mother for all the owner could care -- AS LONG AS a responsible adult (which, for most lodgings, requires that you be at least over 21) was present during the stay.

You might wish to look at the web site for "Visa BUXX Cards", or Visa Reloadable Pre-Paid Credit Cards. These might allow you to rent a room on your own. Gary
