The community living around Columbine Lake throws and annual Fourth of July potluck luncheon. Neighbors from all over the lake bring food to share. People fish off the pier. Local musicians play live music and the entire neighborhood participates in a parade. It's a great way to meet people, picnic outdoors with your family and celebrate the 4th of July (the "Birthday" of the United States).

This picturesque little town lies at the western end of the Trail Ridge Scenic Byway, just outside Rocky Mountain National Park. Like Estes Park, it's an excellent place to stay while touring the area. It's also popular with boaters, and has a few local points of interest.
