This place is really nice!! The bed was antique, and the rooms were small, but cozy. The rooms and doors are old, but very nice.
This place is very unique, because it was once someone's house. A guy by the name of General Palmer built it, and there are many artifacts on display in the conference center. Another nice campground. We had a very nice camp site there, the largest one on our trip. It was very peacefull until a group of students came, and ran through our campsite on the way to the bathroom all night!!! But, those are the pitfalls of camping... There were very friendly deer in the campground . The kids liked the playground. This is the closest campground on the east side of the National Park, other than the ones located in the park, which don't have showers, or any other facilities.

Very central location, almost downtown Colorado Springs. We stayed there during the 4th of July holiday and it was packed!! The camp sites were somewhat small, but overall the kids liked this campground the most from all of the ones we stayed in Colorado because it had a nice playground, a pool, and pancakes for breakfast. Facilities looked like typical 4th of July holiday campground facilities.....a little stressed past capacity.
Great location, lots of things to keep the kids occupied

The campground had a great view of the mountains. I loved sitting there in the evening and just look at them. There was a creek the kids liked playing in, but our campsite was in the overflow area at the top ( make reservations early ! ). It was still a nice campsite, but we were a little bothered by the constant truck traffic going by on the road near it at night. I wonder where they were all going?! The location was located very near all of the things we wanted to do. Overall, it was a nice campground with clean facilities.
Great views!

The Alpenhuette hostel by KaiM The ´Alpenhuette´ in Silverthorne (Summit County) is a hostel. I paid 15 bucks per night in 99/00. They have single rooms and rooms for 4-6 persons. Good accomodation to meet other ski or snowboard fanatics. Vail, Copper Mtn., Keystone, Breckenridge, Loveland and A-Basin are in a distance of 30 minutes by car or less.
Great location close to the ski resorts. Clean rooms. Interesting place to meet other boarder and ski fanatics. Only 26 sites and no RV's! :-) Secluded and at around 10,000 feet really in the thick of things. Sleeping at his elevation isn't easy at first but will help you acclimatize. Theme: CampgroundComparison: least expensiveAddress: Rocky Mountain National Park.

by 807Wheaton It's been quite a few years since we have spent a night at the Hot Springs Lodge. We were there with our children and it was ideal to have a place right across from the Hot Springs Pool. Our pool pass was included with the overnight stay. Everything was very nice at that time, and I would recommend a stay here.

View from the balcony of the Ouray Comfort Inn by 807Wheaton We were delighted with our stay at the Ouray Comfort Inn. The owners were friendly and personable. I hardly ever get a room with a "nice" view so I always notice if I'm looking at steam vents or parking lots. I don't think it's possible to "Not" get a room with a view here. We were able to look at the Telluride Rockies from our balcony and out the window of our room. The room was very clean with a Western appearance. The breakfast was plentiful and the homemade Belgium waffles were tasty and good! The location of this Comfort Inn is right off the main street so it's convenient for the pool and the restaurants in this tiny town. We paid $55.61 for an overnight here in October. I would definitely stay here again.
It appears that every room has a view of the Rockies. The couple that owns and runs this Comfort Inn have homemade Belgium waffles every morning. Very tasty! Theme: MotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 191 5th Avenue, Ouray, Colorado 81427

The Strater Hotel is on Main Street in Durango. It is an excellent 'ye olde world' style hotel. Its like something straight out of a movie set and even has 2 saloon style bars with live entertainment every evening. One of the bars has a honky tonk piano player and you could imagine yourself in the middle of a wild west movie taking on the James gang in a hand of poker...if not a shoot out. However, it is perfectly safe and hopefully none of the characters are off the rail robots as in Yul Brenner in West World. Its a Victorian style hotel and the foyer in picture reflects the general decor in keeping with that era.. The bed rooms are not particularly big but they are in keeping with rooms of that time...with all mod cons of course ! There is an interestin feature of a guest book in each room where you can add comments about your stay and see the comments of others. Apparently my room was haunted but I had no ghostly experiences while there...but it was easy to let your imagination go !
