Great hotel, a few miles from downtown!
Booked a great condo off craigs for 600 total week included cleaning fee and taxes! Sweet! Bought most meals at local market and only went out to eat a few times. Condo had some age on it but in good condition with new laminate floors. Only problem was no pool only hot tub. Beggars cant be....
Good views of slopes and other mountain vistas. Sheltered garage a plus.
Was enjoying an old fashion 'road trip', and stayed at this hotel one night. I chose to book it online, because it was close to the highway, brand, and offered smoking rooms.
The hotel is showing it's age. No flat screen TV, one of the elevators was a bit slow and creaky, one of the exterior doors that was suppose to require a key to enter had a broken lock (always open), and the furniture was very dated.
Also the location, while easy to access, didn't appear to be in a safe area. Didn't feel safe going out after dark.
However it was still a good place to stay. Staff very friendly, and the hotel was spotless!
Its location, is great for sightseeing. Only minutes from the Denver Mint, the candy factory, and at the junction of two highways for quick access to other sights.
They offer all the normal Holiday Inn Amenities: free high-speed internet, business services, work-out room, whirlpool, on site coin laundry, outdoor pool, kids eat free, room service and so on.
This is a pretty nice Super 8 but it has absolutely no extras. No refrigerator, no microwave. No restaurant close by (just a Burger King). Not convenient to downtown. Expensive for what you get.
Not far from Great Sand Dunes National Park

The room was clean enough but rather small and kind of expensive for what you get.

This looks like one of the newer Days Inns. It had a few extra ammenities, including a very strange one. In the basket with the soap and shampoo was a little rubber ducky (so I wouldn't get lonely in the tub??). The staff was friendly and professional. Price was the upper end of the $40-$80.
Near Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

This place is a bit of a dump. The heat/AC had a sign saying "DO NOT TOUCH". I asked if it was working and was told it was but the desk clerk could not turn it on. I ignored the sign. It took all night before it started to cool off. The Internet worked about 10% of the time. The staff was rude. The fire alarm was missing. Cheap but not worth it. I would not stay here again if they paid ME.
One of the worst places I have stayed, ever.

I ended up staying here an extra night. The accomodations were fairly basic but nice enough and in good repair. I likes the extra nice easy chair. My only complaint is the vending machines were empty for the entire two days I stayed there. One of the desk clerks, Justine, was nice, efficient and professional. She let me take her picture but did not want me to post it here.

The hotel itself was kinda average but there were some nice little extras to raise it higher. There was a bag of granola and a small tube of toothpaste. I was glad to see a small refirgerator and a microwave too. The staff was good.
Convenient to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and Curecanti National Wildlife Refuge.

After a long day at Arches National Park, Hans and I headed for the 1-70. We crossed over into Colorado and then started looking for a motel to stay for the night. I chose Grand Junction as they had many motels to choose from. I checked out a few places and decided on AFFORDABLE INNS. It was still a little pricey at $59.99 but it was a Friday night and they did have breakfast in the morning.
Our room contained a king-size bed with flowered sheets no less. It also had a microwave, in-room coffeemaker, TV and a great shower with lots of water pressure.
In the Lobby, there was a guest computer, which is always a bonus.
Continental Breakfast - 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. - included bagels and cream cheese, Danish Pastry, Coffee & Tea, and a waffle maker.

Q: Yellowstone entrances "Please can anyone tell me what is the nearest Yellowstone entrance from Denver. Many thanks."
A: "Just a couple of miles/kilometers. You should be able to do the drive in an easy 10 hours + ..."
