THE TOWN OF LYONS, COLORADO
I am going to Lyons with my family in July and would like to know what is the best way to travel about in Lyons.
Lyons,Colorado is a small town located on the Peak to Peak highway between Boulder and Estes Park,Colorado. It is accessible by car or mountain bike if you are hardy! Elevation is probably in the 6000 Ft. range. Not much going on in Lyons but a short drive away is the town of Estes Park and the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. I hope this is the Lyons you are referring to.
I would guess your coming for a festival at Planet Bluegrass, but maybe not. It's a very small town, so once your here, walking is all you'll need. Lots of hiking and biking in the area. Some nice local restaurants and antique shops as well.

LYONS IS A SMALL TOWN (POP. 1600) ALONG HIGHWAY 36 JUST BEFORE YOU ENTER THE MOUNTAINS ON YOUR WAY TO ESTES PARK.
WE FOUND THAT ITS A GOOD PLACE TO PURCHASE GASOLINE, AS IT WAS LESS EXPENSIVE THAN UP IN ESTES PARK.
These large mushrooms, made with rocks, appear along the roadside.
