Monte Villa Inn: Great Old hotel in Monte vista
Monte Villa Inn is a great old historic bulding in downtown Monte Vista, CO. The rooms are big, nice and at only 55 bucks a night...its a real treat. The resturaunt is excellent and the prices are low (of course i reside in California) and the mgt is friendly. Get out of the 'chain motels ' for a night and live it up.
Unique Quality: Listed on the register of historic places...well kept and beautiful.

Comfort Inn: Monte Vista rip-off
On a dead foggy November night in Monte Vista Colo(not exactly a destination spot) they were charging $65 a night(weekday)
Unique Quality: The clerk was such a jackass---on the phone with a personal call during the whole check in transaction fighting with his girl...taking his time..cocky and rude. the room i got had paint chips on the floor and the room temp was 52 degrees..i immediately went back to check back out...once again jack-ass clerk on the phone taking his time again ,..no apologies no nothing..dont give them your money.
