Terrible Place to stay

We travel regularly and stay at different types of accomodations so are accustomed to good and bad locations but this one is really poorly ran and the owners are rude and arrogant. After reserving a room off of the reviews, we arrived as a late arrival as scheduled and was shown to our reserved room. The walls were so thin that we could hear every word said from the upstairs and the front room, which had people talking for a long time after we attempted to go to sleep. The bed was leaning off to one side, and very lumpy and uncomfortable. After no sleep and extremely sore backs (and we're not prone to back problems), we attempted to politely leave the place without any ill notes. The proprietor had other guests in the kitchen with him so we just told them that we had 'something come up' and left quietly well before the check out time. Now a few days later, we get a bill for a second night in the mail so we called to see why we were billed. After explaining nicely why we left, the Missus gets all ticky with us and says we shouldn't have been as polite as we were.. that rude was acceptable? We were not raised that way, and manners are utmost in our family. We requested our money back for ONLY the 2nd night that we did not stay there, and she got very ugly about the whole thing. This was supposed to be my birthday present, and thanks to this very rude couple, it sure didn't turn into what we had hoped. I do not recommend this place, and also their advertised 'views' are incorrect. The Angel Creek Rooms view is only the side of the house next door unless you want to open the window and lean way out and squint really hard. So, as they wanted us to be rude, here ya go. I advise checking out ANY other accomodations in Ouray, as it is a very nice town to visit and other than these people, the town itself has left us with a very good impression.

Unique Quality: Not a friggin thing.
