Steamboat spring is a very nice little town with an Elevation of 6695 feet,
ITs located 156 miles northwest of Denver on U.S. 40.....
It is known for its World Class skiing, many vacationers head to Steamboat to wallow in its deep Champagne Powder snow.
What many people do not realize is Steamboat was originally a summer vacation town.
There are lots of natural hot springs that attracted visitors as early as 1902, around the same time the town started holding rodeos.
Today Steamboat hosts many outdoor events and activities ,from hiking and biking trails, to fishing and kayaking .
Steamboat’s skiing tradition began in 1913 when Norwegian Carl Howelsen organized the first Winter Carnival, a popular February event ever since.
