I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who isn't super picky, and is budget oriented. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. The wife and husband owners are extremely friendly people who drop everything to make sure you are as happy as possible. The location was not right on the mountain, but this proved to be not a problem at all. The bus stop (free rides) to the resort was 10 feet from the door of the hotel, arriving every 20 minutes. There's a really nice view of the area, but then again, it's hard to find a bad view in Steamboat.
The place was always impeccably clean, with a really nice pool/whirlpool area, and lodge style decorations. The breakfast was a little shady, but the english muffins and bagels and really good orange juice were just enough before a long day on the slopes. (There were also some pancakes and sausages, but not really of the best quality.) Another big perk was the offer made when we arrived. We were looking for the best deal when we chose this place, but were offered a fireplace and jacuzzi suite for $10 more a night (totalling $65 per night). The suite was a great place to come home to after the exhasting snowboarding days. This place would also be really great for families. | | | | La Quinta Inn Steamboat Springs: Very nice, new and clean hotel. Compare Rates NEW! | Satisfaction: | | | | |
This was a very nice Days Inn, probably the nicest of any of the Days Inn hotels I have stayed in. It looks to be a bit new. The owners are very nice and accomodating. Rooms very clean, beds comfy. We had a king bed and the room was plenty large. The entire hotel is non smoking, but you can smoke outside. Ok continental breakfast in the morning from 7-9 a.m. with coffee, orange juice, bananas, bagels and cinammon toast. Not a huge selection but enough to get you started. Rooms have hairdryers, coffeemakers, refrigerators, iron and ironing boards and a microwave. Large television was very nice. HBO and cable were also provided.
Pool was fantastic, heated and indoors. The hot tub was okay, not hot enough for me and the shape of the hot tub was awkward, it was very square and hard to relax and the jets were not very strong, at least not strong enough to massage your back.
