Steamboat Spring's claim to fame is that the town has the produced more olympic medalist than any other town/city in the USA .

Their town community sports program has run long and strong and they are organized .

"Giamboni House"

Beginning at the corner of Oak St. and 7th. The Gaimboni House was built in 1889. Hidden under the siding is the original log building. Henry and Camillo Giamboni were the first to make skis in Steamboat.

"Christian Science Church"

Corner of 7th and Oak.

Margaret Crawford, Steamboat's pioneer woman, was a charter member of the town's Christian Science Society. The lot was originally the site of the old Onyx Hotel.

"Routt County Courthouse"

522 Lincoln Ave.

Designed by noted Colorado architect Robert Fuller.

"Old Town Pub"

600 Lincoln Ave.

Built in 1904 by Ernest Campbell, this building was originally the Albany Hotel. Now it holds the Cameo Restaurant.

"Pioneer Building"

700 block of Lincoln

In its heyday, the upstiars rooms were run as a classic Western boardinghouse and the downstairs housed the Pioneer Bar.

"Rehder Building"

8th and Lincoln

Dakota sandstone from Emerald Mountain was used in the construction.

"Howelsen Hill"

Look up from the corner of 9th and Lincoln

It is directly to the south above the Yampa River. Its named for Norwegian ski jumper Carl Howelsen of Barnum and Bbailey's Circus. The hill includes a 90 meter jump. Its the only ski area in Colorado listed on the Colorado State Register of Historic Places.
