Steamboat Springs
I found Steamboat Springs to be a very good place to ski. The resort was well developed, the slopes to be fine. I traveled here with some folks from work, one of whom was able to find a good package for flights, room and lift tickets.
Here is a view of the mountain - a little light on snow. It was late March that we went, and hence the good deal! Fortunately, there were enough trails with snow (for more pics please see the travel log). There were less folks both on the slopes and in the bars, and so on one hand this gave persons there plenty of room, though perhaps the town was less a party atmosphere than at the peak of the ski season.
One of the more unforgettable things was the flight. We flew a small plane (from I think Denver) into Steamboat. Well, there was a bit of turbulence and on a couple occasions the plane dipped down, and then up, pretty fast. I think everyone needed a few drinks after that flight. So if you can, fly direct into Steamboat!
