You will notice in the picture that the treeline goes to the top of the montain over 10000 ft high.
This is quite different from France Switzerland or Canada where the treeline is at 6000 ft elevation ( plus or minus).
Having the treeline all the way to the top helps greatly when it snows or the clouds roll in. When you enveloped in white out you know you do not have to go far to reach the trees and the edge of the trail.
You always have a frame of reference.
this is one of the teepees they have there for you. Doesnt offer too much privacy but no one was here that day so we used it. I f you dont want to use the teepee you can use one of the other facilities they have available. for me, the teepee was fine because it was close to the pools, right next to them, and it was so cold outside i wanted to get in the pool asap.
There are also teepees that you can rent and stay the night. i think i will do that next time.
if it gets too hot for you, you can get out and relax on the many chairs they have there for you.
I left here feeling refreshed. This is one of my favorite places to visit.
