mesa verde

We are visiting Telluride in late March. Planning to go to Mesa Verde on Good Friday. How long should we plan for trip? Any potential problems we should be aware of? Any suggestions? thanks.

Its a good few years since I went to Mesa Verde but an important tip I was given before I went is well worth passing on.

The visitor centre is at the park entrance which is miles from the major ruins. To enter into the accessible ruins you need a ticket (which have times on and are limited in number) which you get from the visitor centre. Therefore get your ticket(s) on the way into the park. At the ruins I saw many people very dissappointed being turned away because they did not have a ticket.
