We were able to book a room at this B&B just before a holiday weekend because someone else had canceled! What luck- it was a lovely place to stay. We paid about $135 per night for a room for two. Our room (the Humboldt room) had a king sized bed, a bathroom with jetted bathtub, and a balcony overlooking main street. We could see the Sangre de Cristo mountains from our bed. The host and hostess are friendly and provide lots of amenities, including menus for local restaurants, historical information, a glass of port in the evening and a refrigerator with soda and beer. They are trying to sell the business, so there may be new owners sometime in the future.
The hotel is well-kept. They have paid close attention to many details. It was very clean and well-maintained. Our room was quiet - noise from the hall or other rooms was minimal. Coffee in the morning was good. It is located at the edge of the downtown, and within easy walking distance of many restaurants. The bakery across the street is excellent. The B&B is recommended in John Fielder's book about travel in Colorado (he's a famous landscape photographer in Colorado).
This is where we stayed in Westcliffe. IIRC we had to go over to the gas station to go to the bathroom. It was pretty primative.
