Pet friendly

We loved our stay here . There is valet service and a big welcome for our dog. The hotel is of the grand old hotel style . Lovely lobby and nice rooms.

We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the morning.

We would definetly stay here again.

Goodwin Hotel right in the heart of downtown

Unique Quality: Right across from the Civic Center, & practically next door to Max Downtown (see other reviewers mentions under restaurants) & City Place, within easy walking distance of the train/bus station, bar/club district, a McDonald's, a Dunkin Donuts (not 24-hr tho'), Hartford Stage, & TheaterWorks. Only a little further to the Old State House, Gold Building, Traveler's Tower, & Wadsworth Atheneum.

Setting and Service

This is a beautiful "old world" hotel. Renovation of the facade was just being completed when I stayed there. Quality towels, robes and all amenities are provided. Service at the front desk is helpful and friendly. For work downtown or at Aetna the location is central.

  • Opinion of Price: more expensive than average
