Hampton Inn Rocky Hill: A Decnt Roadtrip Hotel

by cjg1

The Hampton Inn Rocky Hill was a good choice for an overnight stay. The price was good and it was close to a friend that Liz had wanted to visit on our way back from a road trip. The hotel is about five minutes off of the highway set back off the road across from some chain restaurants.

The parking lot was virtually empty so we had no problem finding spot right in front. Check in was a breeze and we headed up to our fourth floor room. We had a room far away from the elevator at the end of the hall; just how I like it to be. The room was a basic HAmpton Inn Room with a King sized bed, bathroom, tub, sink with vanity, chair, refrigerator, microwave, ottoman, TV, desk and dresser. The hotel also had a listing of several local restaurants and even provided menus of two that delivered to the hotel. We were fortunate to have already had a dinner option in mind thanks to Carrie and Trip Advisor.

We had a comfortable night's sleep here and the hotel staff was very nice. The staff was prompt in bring us more towels and providing a wake up call the next morning. If we need a hotel in this location again I will definitly use this one.

Best Western Cristata Inn: When the Casino Hotel is all Booked up

by cjg1

We chose the Best Western for two reasons: it was a last minute booking and they had availability and they have a complimentary limo service to Mohegan Sun. We had last minute tickets come through for the REO Speedwagon/Styxx concert and the Casino's hotel was full. We had heard that the Best Western had the free limo service to the Casino so that was a bonus. The hotel is conveniently located to the Casino about five minutes away. The hotel is not the newest thing around but it did have a pool, complimentary breakfast and was an all suite hotel. Check is was rather fast and we had a room on the second floor. The room was large with a living room, bedroom and bathroom. The living room had a desk, table and couch. The bedroom had a large king bed that was rather comfortable. The bathroom was okay but the water pressure in the shower was terrible. We had a comfortable stay and the hotel staff was very friendly. I would use this hotel again in a pinch.

The limo service was a nice feature. The hotel has a complimentary limo service to Mohegan Sun from 4pm-2am on the weekdays. The limo was not the newest thing on the block but it was a comfortable and fast way to get to the casino. The hotel provided us with a card to call the driver when we were ready to return to the hotel. We called and barely waited 5 minutes and the limo was there. It was nice to have someone else do the driving so we could feel free to enjoy some drinks.

There is free wireless service at the hotel but we had no need of it.

Hampton Inn Milford: Good Price HH Stay

by cjg1

This Hampton Inn is our hotel of choice when staying in Milford due to its close proximity to the highway and extremely low rates. We have stayed here more times than I can count and have always had good stays at relatively cheap prices.

The hotel is located right off of I-95 and close to area attractions, shopping and restuarants. We often find ourselves here simply to get a Hilton stay or as a stop on a roadtrip heading North. The hotel has been experiencing some rennovations over the years. The lobby has been nicely redone but some of the rooms have yet to experience the upgrade. We've been here often enough that the front desk clerks know that we need a wakeup call and the time when we check in. It's a nice feeling to know you are remembered every stay...you don't always get that in certain hotel chains.

The rooms are pretty basic with a king bed, chair, desk, armoire, TV, dresser, fridge, microwave and bathroom. The beds are always comfortable; always more comfortable than you'd expect for so cheap a rate. Our last visit here in October 2010, I noticed our room had a flat screen TV..I guess they are gradually replacing the older TV's in the room; good move.

A breakfast buffet is included with the stay....nothing spectacular. The basic coffee, tea, water, juice, cereal, pastry, bagels, fruit...nothing fancy. I have noticed though that the Hampton Inn breakfast has been laking as of late. We usually take a to go bag breakfast as we leave since we'd rather have a big breakfast elsewhere in the area.

The stays here are always comfortable and provide a good night's sleep before heading off to our next destination.

The Connecticut River Valley Inn: Live and Learn

by Donlewis

Note to readers: Our earlier review "...ZERO Hospitality..." was a reflection of what we experienced as far as their service during our stay. Nothing more. Nothing personal. The operators of this inn have made it a point to comment on our reviews on other sites. This is expected. This is how reviews work to help people be informed and make educated choices. They continue, however, to overreact and make defamatory statements as a reaction to a fair, if unfortunately negative review. Their reaction speaks VOLUMES about their character. These things happen. Live and learn.

The Connecticut River Valley Inn: GREAT food not worth dealing w/bad housekeeping.

by amydeverett

My now husband and I chose this inn, after much research, several months before our wedding. Unfortunately, we were ignored due to the inn hosting a wedding and catering all weekend to those wedding guests. Our first morning, the inn keeper actually said “I hope you don’t feel overlooked”. No extras. No refreshments. Several dogs roaming freely. No HOUSEKEEPING!!! Not kidding here. The only time they actually came into our room was to retrieve pillows from our bed for the other guests! Almost a thousand dollars…wasted. Lesson learned. Beautiful home. Fantastic food. Great reviews. BUYER BEWARE.

Three Chimneys Inn at Yale University: New Haven B&B

by karenincalifornia

When we visited Yale University, we needed to spend the night in New Haven, but wanted an alternative to the larger chain hotels. The alternatives are not numerous, but we found a wonderful B&B - Three Chimneys at Yale University. The location was perfect - it is within a block of Yale, very close to the School of Architecture and the School of Art. We rented three rooms, and all three rooms were beautifully (and whimsically) decorated - very true to the late 1800s. We loved this place! The beds were very comfortable and I had a very good night's sleep. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. I would definitely stay here again!

Srawberry park Family Campground: Strawberry Park forever

by ambershimkus

If you are a camping hog, this is the place for you. The facilities are surprisingly clean, there is never a dull moment, and the nights are peaceful and quiet. They have their own restaurant and ice cream place, so you don't have to drive along the long country road for your grumbling belly. It isn't far from Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods, as well as some fantastic beaches, so do use these places as excursions from your bonfire and marshmallows.

There are three pools : two for everyone, a regular pool and a diving pool, and one strictly for adults, which has a hottub and a sauna nearby. The restaurant is right nearby, and so one can wait out an occasional rainstorm while enjoying a delicious peppermint ice cream cone, then jump right back in. There is nightly bingo, and a weekly hynotist ( I assure you, it is a sight worth seeing). Do try the horseback riding and pony rides, as well as some organized sports games. A bluegrass band may play during your visit, accompanied by a gigantic bonfire. For your teens, there are nice big dances ( i went to one with my sister, good fun), and big-screen movies for when they get sick of you beating them at bingo (have never won yet). I must warn you, however: once you come, you've got to come again, and again, and again. It's like a second home for my family of five!??

Residence Inn by Marriott: Residence Inn - Marriott

by bruingirl

Spacious room with bed and a full kitchen and living area. A comfortable stay at reasonable prices. Can't beat that, can you? Only about 5 mins from the Mystic Seaport Village, and just off the 91 freeway. (Picture: www.marriott.com)

An all inclusive hotel is the word that comes to mind. This place has everything one could possibly want from gambling to dining to shopping! One word: HUGE!
