Dated but Does the Job
We stayed in this hotel over the recent Columbus Day holiday weekend. Overall the property and rooms are pretty dated, but everything was in working order and the place was clean. For a weekend getaway the hotel isn't bad. The kitchenette/refrigerator makes it easy to keep bottled water and wine on hand, or to order in if you don't feel like eating at a restaurant. I like the fact that you can eat/drink from real dishes and glasses and not have to resort to the disposable stuff you so often have to use when traveling.
The free breakfast wasn't all that great. In fact, most of the food was sort of inedible and the breakfast area was really crowded.
On the other hand, the hotel is in a great location, just a mile from Mystic Seaport, very close to Route 95 and the Mystic Aquarium, and about two miles from downtown Mystic. There are lots of nice restaurants and shops nearby, but no grocery store--at least not that we could find.
