Travel Tips for Norwalk

Parking in South Norwalk

by Gypsystravels

If you drive to Norwalk, like we did, you'll want to park your car and walk around the compact part of SONO.

There are a few public parking areas and this particular location was located on North Water Street, conveniently located near Washington Street.

You find a spot to park your car and pay the amount for the desired time at a vending booth. The prices are really resonable and if you don't want to be worried about your time expiring I would recommend on paying the $5 for a 24 hour period.

A Great town to visit in Connecticut

by Gypsystravels

"A favorite town of ours"

Norwalk is one of our favorite small towns here in Connecticut. It's close enough to our new home making it a good place for us to come when we want to take a drive but not be far from home.

There are a few things to do here if you want to wander around the town. You can visit the aquarium or a few of the other small museums, do some shopping or enjoy a night of eating and drinking. There are plenty of places to grab some food either a quick bite or something a bit more upscale. Whenever Ferni and I visit you can find us enjoying a few drinks at some of our favorite places as well as enjoying some new ones, with so many choices why limit yourself?

Norwalk is usually a day visit because of its close proximity to our home, but we've also spent a few nights faciliating an escape further north on I-95.

Southern Connecticut

by KARLPORTER56

I'm thinking we stayed in Norwalk but we traveled into Stamford and Greenwich as well.. All very close together within a short drive to NYC.. In fact it takes around an hour..that's it until your in Manhattan.. Many people live here and work in NYC.. Southern Connecticut is perhaps not so beautiful in late March but it is nicer and more relaxing than the Big Apple.Just across the Border is Port Chester.. We visited all these towns . I think this is a pic of a yacht club in Stamford..

Boats asleep for the winter.
