Travel Tips for Stamford

United House Wrecking

by marca

Huge indoor selection of used doors, fireplace mantels, stained glass windows, and other architectural items. They also carry new reproduction furniture and accessories as well. The selection of outdoor patio furniture and garden statueary is the largest that I have seen. I have been wanting to go here ever since I saw it featured on 'This Old House' years ago.

An Afternoon Snack

by cjg1 about Senses

Liz and I arrived hours before the wedding was to take place. We met up with Liz's parents at Senses for some drinks and a snack. The place is a nice size and located in the hotel lobby area. There is a conventional bar and some tables strewn throughout. The menu was a nice selection of pub food, salads and appetizers. Bob and I were hungry so we decided to spit a flatbread pizza and some cokes. Liz had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and MArie sipped a diet Pepsi.

The flatbread pizza was just the right size for two to share and was very tasty. It was the perfect snack to hold us over until the cocktail hour began.

Another great Mexican...

by Judd

Another great Mexican retaurant is Ole Mole.
This place has some of the tastiest Mexican I've ever had. It is a very small place, with only 3-4 tables inside, but the food is absolutely fantastic. In warm weather they have tables outside on the sidewalk. Anything here is good. Don't forget to try a Mexican soda.

Quick Getaways, Shopping and Restaurants

by cjg1

This town is not terribly far from home but when the price is right provides a quick getaway for the weekend. Stamford has some good food options and shopping; so it's not unusual for us to visit. We have friends who are local to the area so it's always a fun town to bar crawl or enjoy a good meal.

Stamford is a melting pot of cuisines and it is possible to get Indian, Chinese, Italian, Lebanese, Thai, Japanese, Mexican, Latin American, French, American and other ethnic food in Stamford.

Stamford has many shooping options:malls, individual stores and farmer's markets on the weekends. The shopping is very centrally located so it is easy to park the car and walk from shop to shop or even take the train then walk.

Stamford was a great place to visit. Its really well developed and a happening place. From what I heard from a few sources, the property prices in stamford are just next to Beverly Hills, California.
The downtown is lit up with lights in the evening, and a nice place to shop and look around. UCONN (University of Connecticut) is a famous university and has a branch in stamford.
If u love quiet places away from the city, this is the place to be!!!
