A Town For All Seasons
"A great place to live"
A 90 minute train ride from NYC, and tons of history on Main Street, Sikorsky Aircraft, Sikorsky Airport, Short Beach, Long Beach, natural salt marshes, a par 3 golf course on the Long Island Sound, and one of America's 50 Toughest Golf Courses, Oronoque Country Club. Who could ask for more?
"Mixed Up Weather"
Stratford, like much of the Connecticut coastline, may have some of the most mixed up weather in the country. I have seen accumulated snow that did not melt from mid-November to Mid April, and on the converse, it has not snowed here until mid-February! I have seen snow on tax day, and even a freak flurry in mid-June. Humidity can be brutal in early, middle, and late summer. Fall foliage is just as beautiful as the best in VT at different times.
Advise: Bring lots of jackets, and layers early to mid spring and mid to late Fall. Jackets are a must in Novermber - March, with full winter gear needed in December-February.
