Travel Tips for Uncasville

Fun for Gamblers and Non Gamblers Alike

by cjg1

Mohegan Sun is our casino of choice in the area; so much better than Foxwoods. Liz and I enjoy the shopping, dining and entertainment options that Mohegan Sun has to offer. The casino decor is more unique and eye pleasing with beautiful Native American Art, crystal sculptures and waterfalls. We enjoy spending a day or a weekend at the casino having fun with each other or friends. Check out their website http://www..mohegansun.com to see what events, concerts or shows are coming to Mohegan Sun. I love hanging out at Mohegan with our friends; having drinks, shopping, seeing concerts and enjoying each others company.

Mohegan sun Player's Club

by Gypsystravels

If you visit Mohegan Sun often (even if you don't) I would recommend that you stop by and sign up for the Player's Club Card. There are various levels and you will initially start off at the lowest level and work your way up depending on your spending rate.

As a sign up bonus you will usually get a small gift, either a baseball cap, key chain or something along those lines.

The good thing about the Player's Club card is that you get the inside scoop on concert tickets, events, and special promotions and deals and even comp'd for hotel stays.

21 and Over Please

by Gypsystravels

Throughout the casino there are signs posted stating that you MUST BE 21 and over to enter the gaming floor. This is the case in all casinos and they strickly enforce this rule.

Carry your ID with you to prove your age and you won't have any problems. Children are also strickly prohibited, even if it's just to "cut though" the gaming floor to get to the other side, so please adhere to the rules.

We spotted a couple with a child in a stroller oblivous to the fact that although they were over 21, the child was about 3. Security chased them and asked that they leave the gaming floor now!!

Great places to enjoy food and drinks

by Gypsystravels

Mohegan Sun has a large variety of places to either grab a quick bit or a full meal. EVerything from steak, to seafood, burgers to quick meals as well as assortment of places to grab a snack. Here you will find something to please everyone.

Along with good eating, you will find an array of bars to have a refreshing drink, sit back and enjoy a frozen cocktail with your love, or a nice martini or even a wonderful glass of wine.

Ferni and I enjoy ourselves where ever we go and Mohegan Sun provides us with many things we enjoy in one location. We enjoy eating at varios places like Micheal Jordan's Steakhouse, Jasper White's Summer Shack, Bobby's Burger Place. Our favorite bars happen to be Leffingwells, Star Bar and The Feature Bar, where I had my fist big winning!

Guests with Disabilities

by cjg1

When we travel with Liz's parents we are always careful to ensure that the facility is handicap friendly. Liz's Dad is wheelchair bound so we make sure that they have ramps and elevators for his needs. Mohegan Sun is very disability friendly with wide areas, elevators and wheelchairs and scooters available for guests. Bob travels with his own scooter so we never have to worry about securing one for his use.

Mohegan Sun has wheelchairs available at the coat checks by the three entrances. Scoters need to be rented and can be reserved by calling: (888) 320-4577. The cost of renting a standard sized scooter is $25 per day. The rental of a heavy duty scooter is $30 per day.

There are also handicaped parking spaces but they are very hard to come by in the parking lots so we often just valet the car.
