A Day Trip or Overnight Stay
Most of our West Haven trips are day trips or an overnight stay in the area so a small overnight bag, backpack or small rollaboard will suffice. In the summertime we like to use the WestHaven Beaches so swimsuits, towels and sunscreen are a must.
Enjoying Our visits to West Haven
We spend a lot of time road tripping on I 95 and passing through many of the towns in Connecticut (along the Long Island Sound) and West Haven is just one of those towns we've visited many times..
West Haven has a few points of interest and many places to eat and shop, so it's always on our list of places to visit, even if only for a short while. We definitely plan on doing some more exploring during the warmer months, especially because our road trips north take less time since we've moved to Westchester.
Initially, West Haven hadn't really been a town that Ferni and I planned on visiting, just happend that during one of our many road trips on I 95 we happen to notice the huge neon sign of the Texas Roadhouse.
The Texas Roadhouse just off exit 42 with its HUGE neon sign can't be missed while driving (there is an American Steakhouse just next door as well) and Ferni would always say that we would have to make it a point to check this location out since it was so close to the highway. We had been to one of the other locations in Warwick Rhode Island, so we had an idea of the food and quality of the restaurant.
The Texas Roadhouse is a national chain restaurant you can find in just about every single state with very cheap and good dishes. Since we were driving north to no particular location during this trip, we decided to make this a pit stop and get something to eat.
