Comfort Inn
I stayed at the Comfort Inn for four nights late May to early June 2004. This is a nice, clean hotel with an ideal location in Dover. It is on the corner of Loockerman and Du Pont Highway. for those unfamiliar with Dover, Loockerman is the main street in historic downtown Dover, while Du Pont Highway is the main drag in the modern commercialized area of Dover. Both have their key attractions. From the Comfort Inn, you can walk to the two best bars in Dover, "The Lobby House" and "WT Smithers", both on Loockerman in downtown. Also in easy walking distance on Du Pont Highway are "Where Pigs Fly", Dover's best BBQ, TGI Fridays and other major restaurant chains.
The Comfort Inn has a swimming pool and a light continental breakfast for about $80 per night. It is only 2 miles north of Dover Air Force Base and the Air Mobility Museum and about 4 miles south of Dover Downs, home of NASCAR racing, horse racing, and slot machines.
